Terms of service
Last updated: August 6, 2026
By accessing or using Sportacus ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Sportacus does not permit accounts for users under 13, and accounts found to belong to users under 13 will be removed. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information during registration.
Certain usernames ("handles") — including the names of sports organizations, teams, leagues, schools, brands, and platform-related terms — are reserved and unavailable for general registration. Handles are reserved solely to prevent impersonation and protect the community.
A reserved handle does not indicate, and must not be represented as indicating, any affiliation with, endorsement by, sponsorship by, or partnership with Sportacus or with the organization the handle refers to. Organizations may claim their reserved handle through our verification process. Sportacus may reclaim, reassign, or release any handle at its discretion to prevent impersonation or confusion.
You retain ownership of content you post on Sportacus. By posting, you grant Sportacus a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the Platform for the purpose of operating and improving the service.
Sportacus will not use content posted by users under 18, or content depicting identifiable users under 18, in advertising or off-platform promotional materials without separate, explicit consent.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Content must comply with our Community Standards below.
The "Fact or Cap" voting mechanic is a community engagement feature. Votes represent community opinion and do not constitute verified facts. Claims are resolved by the community, not by Sportacus, and Sportacus is not responsible for the accuracy of claims or votes.
Sportacus is built on three commitments: state your take (Fact), call out falsehood (Cap), and respect fellow sportans (Honor). The Honor commitment is enforceable. Users must not:
"Sportacus," "Fact or Cap," and "RAEDA" are trademarks of Sportacus. The Platform's design, code, and branding are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Platform without written permission.
If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed on Sportacus, send a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent at dmca@sportacus.live with: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) identification of the infringing material and its location, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized, (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and (6) your physical or electronic signature.
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address containing your contact information, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury of good faith belief the removal was mistaken, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts in your district (or New York if outside the U.S.).
Sportacus maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of repeat infringers.
RAEDA is Sportacus's recruiting-visibility feature. Sportacus may offer paid subscription tiers for athletes, families, and verified coaches or recruiters. Pricing, billing period, and included features are presented at the point of purchase; where a subscription is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's billing and refund terms also apply.
Coaches and recruiters must complete verification before contacting athletes. Verification methods include institutional email, credential review, and supporting documentation. Sportacus reviews verification requests but does not guarantee the accuracy of coach credentials.
Coach-to-athlete communication is template-only: verified coaches may contact athletes solely through a limited set of pre-written message templates provided by Sportacus. Free-text messaging from coaches to athletes is not available. Template fields are restricted and screened to block personal contact information. All coach messages are logged and screened by automated systems, and athletes can block or report any coach at any time.
Recruiting profiles for athletes under 18 are created and published by the athlete (or their family) with privacy controls; Sportacus does not create recruiting profiles on a minor's behalf.
The following content is prohibited and will be removed:
Sportacus may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.
Sportacus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sportacus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York.
