  • Account information: Name, email address, username, password, date of birth, and role (athlete, coach, or fan).
  • Profile information: Avatar, bio, sport preferences, athletic profile data (height, weight, graduation year, GPA, highlight reels), and coaching credentials.
  • Usage data: Posts, votes (Fact or Cap), comments, communities joined, messages sent, search queries, and feature interactions.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, push notification tokens, and IP address.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Sportacus platform and its features.
  • Match athletes with coaches through the RAEDA recruiting system.
  • Send notifications about activity, messages, and platform updates.
  • Enforce our community guidelines and prevent abuse.
  • Generate aggregated analytics and leaderboards.
  • Process payments for RAEDA Pro subscriptions.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with:

  • Other users: Your public profile, posts, and votes are visible to other users. Athletes can control privacy settings for their recruiting profiles.
  • Verified coaches: Coaches who pass our verification process may view athlete profiles you have made available for recruiting.
  • Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and hosting; ESPN APIs for live scores; Stripe for payment processing; and Expo for push notifications.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Third-Party Services

Sportacus integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google Cloud): Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, and hosting.
  • ESPN API: Live scores and game data.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for RAEDA Pro subscriptions.
  • Anthropic (Claude): Athlete matching and content generation.
  • Expo: Push notification delivery.

5. Children's Privacy

Sportacus is intended for users age 13 and older, in compliance with COPPA. Users under 13 may not create accounts.

For athletes under 18, we implement additional safeguards:

  • Parent/guardian email is collected and verified before coaches can initiate contact.
  • All coach outreach messages to minors include parent notification.
  • Coach verification is required before any athlete contact is permitted.
  • Athletes control their privacy settings and can block any coach at any time.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal obligations).

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and download your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Opt out of push notifications and email communications.
  • Control who can view your profile through privacy settings.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure authentication (Firebase Auth), and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Sportacus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
